Messy toes...
Monday night I painted my toes with a newly boughten dark plum colored nail polish. Upon entering Soren's room on Tuesday he looked at me....then at my toes....and back to me and said, "Messy toes Mamma, Messy toes." Now anytime he sees my toes there are "messy." :-)

ho hum life
I told my office I was just not coming in to work today. I sat down at the computer at 9:00 this morning and haven't left... but I have had a good day... even got some work work done. I'm ready to delve into 4 years of unalbumed pictures... Maybe I should bring my pictures up to Tonya and her sister... they are scrapbooking today according to Trent.
I've had many conversations today about how Sonja is faring in the flood. She's doing well. But help is not far away if she needs help... either help from the western front or the northern front. My what devastation.
Mny job will change a little for next year.... I am not going to do the EdSpec contract but devote that time to the Response to Intervention project. Hopefully it will eliminate some of the scheduling nightmares I have had this year working 3 contracts. And I do get a raise... that always helps too. It has really been quite a 'ride' this job.... a little nerve wracking ... a whole lot wonderful.
We are looking forward to Russell and Sharon stopping in on their way home from Texas.. if we can get a hold of them.... It's just about Easter.... They spent Easter with all of our crew last year. This year it is not a Sletto Easter BUT the Penns and Slettos are coming anyway. I AM NOT COMPLAINING AT ALL.... HOW LUCKY CAN I BE!
I don't have any cute kyd stories to tell.... I love hearing all of the stories.... all of Jordan's travels on his blog.... One wonders how long it will take him to tell of all the things he does not put in his blog when he returns home... Tammy and Dale will probably have to take a week off to hear it all.
Well, ho hum.... I must go get my quilting supplies at Quarve Drug and pick up my meds. That's it for here. LOVE YOU ALL.

Snow, snow, and more snow
Hello, everyone! I write to you from the frozen tundra of central ND. We awakened to -23 this morning - the 27th of February. The picture is of Dean blowing 4' of snow off of our house roof when we got back from our Christmas vacation in Texas. It was a bit of a task to pull the snowthrower back up the icy roof. All is well here as long as the furnace and snowblower continue to work. Look forward to seeing posts from everyone else.

Busy weekend
It was great to see the Klitzke clan for a visit on Friday night! We had Soren's 1st birthday party with Scott's family a week early since I work next weekend. I don't think Soren knew what to think about the cake, but in the end he rather enjoyed it!!! Hope you all are enjoying your last weeks of summer. Take Care-Solveig

Slight risk...
At the risk of being a little inappropriate, in a completely innocent way, I need to tell you a story from the lunch today. Jeremiah was talking about someone giving "a good effort." Micah piped in that he knew he wasn't supposed to say that. After a brief moment of confusion I realized he was talking about F-word, which when said quickly in a conspiratorial tone by a child who is letting another child in on a secret--sounds like "effort." While avoiding eye contact with each other (so as to not burst out into fits of laughter), Jeremiah and I explained to Micah that effort meant working hard etc. while F-word was a naughty word that we never ever say. I don't think he realizes that F-word stands for another word and we carefully avoided clearing up any confusion on that point. We'll let him think that saying "F-word" is not okay as long as we can, even if it means he also avoids saying "effort." Josiah, the wiser older brother he is, informed us that it is not okay to say the "e-word" either. We weren't quite sure what word he meant, so he explained to us that the "e-word" is an mean, nasty word to say to dumb people. He was referring to "idiot." Signe clarified that idiot begins with an "i" actually. I'm not really sure how the conversation ended and what other misconceptions I furthered, but I know that someday they'll comprehend it all. Someday they'll be parents...
